In order to strengthen the National Grand Lodge of Colombia based in Bogota, which was weakened after the division of this Grand Orient in 1932, Américo Carnicelli was commissioned by the I.:P.:H.: Tulio Rubiano, Grand Master of the East of Bogota, for the foundation of Lodges in departments that were not under the jurisdiction of Bogota. and among these was the Department of Antioquia.
Carnicelli would find in Antioquia, a favorable environment for the constitution of new lodges, and on December 12, 1934, the Fiat Lux and Victoria lodges were born, with letters patent issued by the National Grand Lodge of Colombia based in Bogotá. It should be clarified that these lodges were constituted by Masons who asked for their letters of removal from the Sol de la Montaña Lodges No. 8 and Clarity No. 12, which, at that time, were under the jurisdiction of the Most Serene National Grand Lodge of Colombia based in Cartagena de Indias.
The creation of the Grand Lodge of the Department of Antioquia occurred on December 16, 1934, as stated in the Manifesto Salutation, installation and history of the "Grand Lodge of the Department of Antioquia" with headquarters in Medellín.
On date, August 21, 2020 of the vulgar era, The Lodges based in the East of Medellin, namely; "Claridad", "Victoria" and "Francisco de Miranda", have resolved to constitute themselves as a Permanent Assembly on August 21 and have resolved, after the approval of all the Representatives of the Lodges present, to raise the Columns of the Grand Lodge of the Department of Antioquia, which will have its headquarters in the Grand Orient of Medellín, of the Republic of Colombia. in its second stage of creation.
